Webinar Description:
Biomedical fluorescence imaging has become a cornerstone technique across pre clinical research, clinical translation, and intraoperative guidance. Rapid advances in imaging hardware, contrast agents, acquisition protocols, and data analysis methods have expanded the capabilities of both intrinsic (endogenous) and extrinsic (exogenous) fluorescence imaging, including fluorescence lifetime–based approaches. Despite this progress, the field continues to face challenges related to reproducibility, comparability, validation, and clinical translation, driven in part by the absence of broadly accepted standards and harmonized best practices. Variations in system design, calibration procedures, acquisition protocols, data processing pipelines, and reporting conventions make it difficult to compare results across studies, institutions, and platforms. This JBO Hot Topics Webinar provides an overview of current standardization efforts and progress.
