A real-time multispectral non-contact transvaginal imaging probe (GynoSight v3.0) for early detection of premalignant cervical cancer

A portable, hand-held, non-contact multispectral transvaginal imaging probe (GynoSight v3.0) was designed developed for the early detection of premalignant cervical cancer. The probe acquires multispectral diffuse reflectance images to assess tissue absorption, scattering, and oxygen saturation and compare with the Colposcopy images. In this study, a total of 25 subjects were studied which reported lower shadowing compared to colposcopy, with improved metrics like Mean Pixel Intensity, Entropy, and CNR. Oxygen Saturation (OS) map was estimated using phase correlation-based image registration and correlated with abnormalities on the surface of the cervix. The EfficientNet architecture based AI algorithm was used for the detection key biomarkers of premalignant cervical cancer.
