Simon Cherry is a physicist and a professor of biomedical engineering and radiology at the University of California, Davis.  He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Inventors. His research focuses on the technology, methods and applications of radiation in medicine, with an emphasis on positron emission tomography.
